I believe some of the most interesting learning begins with a question.
Instead of simply looking for answers, I want to learn how to investigate these questions myself. That means learning mathematics, finance, economics, programming and research — and then using them to build, test and explain ideas.

It is also the closest thing I have to a working model of risk. Nothing about a dive is dangerous on its own; the danger is in the combination, and in the assumption you did not check.

I thought loss aversion was something that affected other investors, not me.
FoundI noticed I check a falling number far more often than a rising one, and that I had been describing exactly this behaviour as irrational when other people did it.
I thought I could recognise a real price chart from a randomly generated one.
FoundI ran it as a blind test on 60 charts and scored 33 — statistically indistinguishable from guessing. My confidence was not correlated with being correct.
I’m interested in where mathematics, technology, finance and human behaviour meet. For now, I’m focused on learning, building, researching and asking better questions.
